Dear Brothers and Sisters of Local 2404, I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone of the safety hazards, both at home and work, at this time of year. As we travel to visit family and friends there are a few areas we may need to focus on while traveling, at work, and at home. Please be careful while traveling and allow extra time for heavy traffic and perhaps in climate weather. These two areas can cause unforeseen stress in an otherwise joyful time of year. In your travels remember to buckle-up, and if you choose to drink please have a designated driver. Another area we tend to get complacent this time of year is at work. We all have distractions that cause our minds to wonder and sometimes we let down our guards concerning safety. I urge all of you to remain vigilant in our efforts using safe working practices. And remember to watch out for our fellow brothers and sisters at work. This time of year allows us to reflect on how much we care about our families and friends. We all want to return home safe and sound. We can make a difference in keeping each other safe for the Holiday’s. Home safety is another area we sometimes get a little careless. When we are at home we will no doubt be hanging lights both inside and out and sometimes frustration sets in and we take short cuts. Once again I ask all of you to make sure those ladders are secure and those power outlets are not overloaded. If we keep a watchful eye out on our climbing technique and wiring we can prevent any falls or accidental fires.
Have a very Merry Christmas and a Safe and Blessed New Year!
